Huijuan (Amanda) Zhang is a patent agent trainee at Ridout & Maybee LLP in the firm’s Ottawa office.
Prior to joining Ridout & Maybee LLP, Amanda worked in-house at a multinational company with locations in China, the US, and Canada. She conducted patent search and analysis and generated patent landscapes for specific products and competitors. She also filed and prosecuted Chinese patent applications and provided patent-related advice in the area of wind energy and oil & gas (machinery, wireline systems, drilling equipment and systems, downhole systems, sub-sea production systems, and relevant control systems).
Amanda also has experience in prior art searching, patentability analysis, evaluation of essential patents for constructing a patent pool, and patent infringement analysis.
Originally from Shanghai, China, Amanda worked in Plano, Texas for several years before settling in Ottawa.
