Ridout & Maybee LLP congratulates teams on another successful Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot Competition

Ridout & Maybee LLP would like to congratulate the students of Western Law and the University of Ottawa on an impressive competition at the 2020 Harold G. Fox IP Moot. The students put forth an excellent showing that was well received by all in attendance.
The University of Ottawa team was comprised of Joshua Towes & Almut MacDonald (Appellants), who advanced to the semi-finals at the competition, and Nevena Cekic & Meaghan Coker (Respondents). The team was accompanied by Researcher Ryan Pistorius.

The Western Law Team was comprised of Henry Mah & David Lafontaine (Appellants) and Nyrie Israelian & Samantha Wasserman (Respondents). Both teams advanced to the semi-finals, while the Appellants advanced to the finals. The Appeallants were also runners-up for best advocacy overall, while the Respondents won the Gordon F. Henderson Award for the best Respondent factum.
