Facebook and Rights Holders

Facebook recently announced that as of 12:01 AM EDT on Saturday June 13, 2009, it will permit users to register personalized usernames as URLs. Available now to trademark owners is an online form to register their trademarks with Facebook to help prevent unauthorized third parties from registering the trademark as a username. Otherwise, trademark owners can reserve their own trademarks on the Facebook service in the usual manner. Facebook also has a complaints mechanism regarding usernames have been registered.
