We are currently recruiting for a Payroll & Human Resources Administrator to join our team. Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for processing payroll and benefits and providing support to the firm.

Candidates interested in pursuing this opportunity will enjoy working in a highly technical and paperless environment.  Day-to-day administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Payroll processing and benefits administration;
  • Updating our payroll system and group benefits program regarding new employees, terminated employees, status changes, and other changes;
  • Managing and maintaining the firm’s HRIS system;
  • Assisting with year-end activities, including reconciliations of T4’s, EHT and statutory deductions;
  • Assisting with recruitment campaigns;
  • Processing Human Resources related payables in a timely and confidential manner;
  • Assisting with updating and maintaining firm and HR related policies;
  • Assisting with the firm’s Employee Recognition Program;
  • Other duties as required and directed.

You will enjoy continued development of your skills and knowledge through the firm’s internal training and development programs in addition to our Continued Education Program, offering reimbursement for courses outside the firm.

We are currently looking for an individual who has the following qualifications:

  • Experience with Canadian payroll legislation – certification through The Canadian Payroll Association is an asset;
  • Experience with processing and managing payroll, benefit programs and group insurance administration;
  • Strong financial skills, including knowledge of journal entries;
  • Solid computer skills and experience with a variety of software applications and databases;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Understanding of CRA rules with respect to payroll deductions;
  • Excellent command of the English language, with good grammar and communication skills – verbal and written;
  • Detail-oriented, accurate and self-motivated;
  • Able to remain calm and focused under pressure;
  • Able to manage a variety of tasks at any given time;
  • Effective with organizing and prioritizing work;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Adaptable, dependable and open to change;  
  • Reliable, punctual and present for work.

Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and working in paperless environment is an asset.
