Rob Wilkes is counsel to Ridout & Maybee LLP in the firm’s Toronto office.  His practice is focused on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical and computer related technology covering a broad range of industries including leak detection, motor applications, electronics, telecommunications, data mining, surgical navigation and financial applications.  Rob also advises clients on licensing and strategic intellectual property portfolio development and management.

Rob is a former Chair of the Toronto Intellectual Property Group and the Toronto Computer Lawyers’ Group.  He writes and speaks on a variety of intellectual property, information technology and e-commerce topics.

Prior to joining Ridout & Maybee LLP, Rob was the founder of a successful Toronto patent law office.
