Jim Lake is a partner of Ridout & Maybee LLP in the firm’s Toronto office. His practice is primarily directed towards patent prosecution, with an emphasis on chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnical inventions. He also devotes a significant part of his practice to negotiating and drafting license agreements in a wide variety of areas of technology.

Prior to joining Ridout & Maybee LLP and after obtaining his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Jim worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alberta for two years.
