Summer Student and Articling Program

Primary Practice Areas Ridout & Maybee provides legal services in all aspects of IP including patents (mechanical, industrial, electrical & high tech, biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical and information technology), Plant Breeders’ Rights, Integrated Circuit Topographies, trade marks, copyright, industrial designs, trade secrets, all forms of IP litigation, licensing, IP transactions, domain names, mediation and arbitration. Summer/Articling Student Program The Ridout & Maybee LLP Summer Student & Articling Program is designed to provide you with the opportunity to work with a team of talented, diverse, and highly qualified intellectual property practitioners in a boutique firm setting. Summer and articling students work under the supervision of IP professionals and are encouraged to work on all forms of intellectual property matters including patents, trade-marks, copyright, industrial designs, trade secrets and the litigation thereof. Students can expect to be involved in the preparation of letters, documents, research memoranda, patent, trade-mark & copyright applications, office actions/prosecution work and a variety of litigation issues such the preparation of pleadings, evidence, motion records, affidavits and the like. There is no formal rotation system as our practice is restricted to intellectual property law. Summer and Articling student positions are available in our Toronto, Ottawa and Mississauga offices for the 2009-2010 term.
