On April 26, parties who own a registered trade-mark in any jurisdiction may apply for a .co domain name.  .co is formerly the top level country code for Columbia and .co domain names are regarded as having some value as an abbreviation for the term “company”.  Also, Internet users who mistakenly exclude the letter “m” when attempting to type a .com domain name will be directed to a website with the corresponding .co domain name.
